Store Manager Wanted - Des Moines/Ankeny

Carpet One has a great career opportunity for an experienced Flooring Store Manager to head-up a new location in the Des Moines/Ankeny, area. This will be the latest addition to our family-owned group of stores in Carroll, Ames, Spirit Lake and Urbandale.
This new state-of-the-art showroom will offer all types of flooring and window coverings, servicing both residential and commercial customers.
The Store Manager position requires a confident, customer service-oriented individual who can lead a team of 3-5 commissioned salespeople, plus hourly employees and subcontracted installation crews.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Conduct interviews, hire and train new employees
- create & manage work schedule to ensure store is properly staffed
- conduct weekly meetings to keep employees motivated and aware of new products & promotions, etc.
- meet 1-on-1 with salespeople regularly to discuss progress toward goals and assist them in achieving their goals
- ensure that employees are treated fairly at all times and resolve conflicts
- work with salespeople and installers to ensure that outstanding customer service standards are maintained
- handle customer warranty claims
- ensure that the showroom and store grounds are properly maintained and presentable
- represent the company at local networking events
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- minimum of 3 years of sales and/or management experience in the retail flooring industry
- experience with flooring products, measuring for flooring and the installation process
- experience with both retail and commercial flooring projects, including ability to read blueprints and perform take-offs
- outstanding leadership and communication skills
- the ability to motivate, train, coach and problem solve
- experience with Microsoft Office and customer management software
PAY & BENEFITS:
Pay package includes a guaranteed salary based on experience, plus bonuses, with total earning potential ranging from $70K - $100K+ per year + bonuses.
